Be Still

Christine Ledford (3)

The world is full of uncertainty right now. I saw firsthand the effects of fear in my own community yesterday as I ventured into the grocery store where shelves of cleaning supplies and personal necessities stood bare. Certain scriptures came to mind as I drove home, and my heart was thankful for God’s unending love and mercy. Be still. His mighty hand is in control. ❤

“Be still, and know that I am God…” —Psalm 46:10

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” —Jeremiah 29:11

“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” —Deuteronomy 31:8

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” —Isaiah 41:10

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” —John 14:27

It’s not easy to stay calm in the midst of this present day global storm. Here too grocery store shelves are bare. People are grabbing necessities left and right to the point of hoarding. Yes I know I am in God’s Hands. Yet God gave me the brains I have to act safely. Now is a really good time to be still. And that is what I am doing. I made a very difficult decision for me just today. I’m not going to the gym which is my PT so I must now come up with something here at home to exercise my body. Until this Corona virus calms down, I am staying as close to home as possible.
Beautiful pictures which in of themselves gave me a deep sense of stillness and calm. Thank you! This too shall pass …. in God we trust! xo

Thank you, Amy. 🙂 I agree that it’s not easy, and yes, God gives us knowledge to do what is necessary for our families to survive. Absolutely! This is definitely an adjustment for all of us, and when it becomes overwhelming it is helpful to know that if I am still, God will soothe my spirit and lead me onward. Take care & be safe! ❤
